LENTEN TENEBRAE LITANY: Lent 3
All: God, you have given us the challenge of following your Law. Sometimes, we need to be angry with injustice & the wrongs of this world. Sometimes, following your way makes others angry with us. Open our eyes that we may know your will, & give us the strength to follow you & to serve one another. Amen
OPENING
HYMN:
Voices United #415 - God, we praise you for the Morning
CALL TO WORSHIP:
All: I offer my gratitude for the blessing of this earth I have been given.
I offer my gratitude for the measure of health I have been given.
I offer my gratitude for the family and friends I have been given.
I offer my gratitude for the community I have been given.
I offer my gratitude for those who offer their talents to this community of faith
I offer my gratitude for the life I have been given.
Let us sing, and pray and be together as we worship this morning.
LET us look at each other, and offer a silent blessing for their presence here and also in our lives.
Amen, and Amen

OPENING PRAYER:
All: Teach me the language of prayer, God.
Help me to hear prayers of thanksgiving
in the laughter of young children and old friends.
Help me to feel prayers of lamentation
in the silent tears of strangers and loved ones.
Help me to witness prayers of intercession
in small acts of kindness and service.
Teach me, God, how to pray with my whole being.
Amen.

A Celebration of Those Lives Lived
PRAYER:
All: Beloved Presence,
As we journey on our paths of life, we thank you for the footprints left on our hearts; the soft and gentle ones that brought comfort, the deep and lasting ones of enduring friendship, the lightly passing ones conveying kindness, and the impressionable footprints swept away by time. Each one left a ‘GIFT’ for us. How grateful we are for each life lived and their story remembered. Abundant peace…Amen
