LENTEN LITURGY AND CANDLE LIGHTING:
All: God, our Saviour, we praise & adore you. In your mercy, you have reached out to us & made us your covenant people. You have called us to new life in Jesus Christ. We want to be a faithful people, O God, yet you know our weakness. Our feet slip easily from your pathway. We trust in the mercy you have shown us in Jesus. Transform our wavering steps into solid conviction for Christ’s sake, we pray. Amen.
WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP:
One: God be with you
All: And also with you.
One: We come from scattered lives to this sanctuary,
Seeking unity in Spirit,
Seeking the grace of Christ,
Seeking the peace of God.*
SCRIPTURE:
Isaiah 50:4-9a
CONFESSION:
All: Jesus, who sat at the table with outcasts and sinners,
We confess that too often our words and actions
Are not consistent with our beliefs.
Often we ignore the needy,
Show indifference to the lonely,
And reject those who seem different from us.
Forgive us we pray.
Empower us to reach out in love and acceptance.
WORDS OF ASSURANCE:
One: God is the love that over and around us lies;
The grace that is totally unearned;
And the healing that makes the earth whole.
Give thanks to God; we are forgiven!
All: Amen.

We give as we receive.
PRAYER OF DEDICATION
All: Loving God, Mother of us all,
May these gifts, given gratefully,
Be brought to life through the power of your creative Spirit.
Multiply and use them to bring the word,
And the touch of Jesus to your people in this place
And throughout the world. Amen.
JOYS AND CONCERNS
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE & THE LORD’S PRAYER:
One: Gracious God, hear our prayers today as we pray
for the healing of the many.
All: We pray that those who are wounded spiritually,
Bind up the wounds of the broken and lonely,
that those who are injured in body,
spirit and mind be made whole
in whatever way you alone will.
One: We pray for our world leaders as
they make decisions together for the world we live in.
We pray that the decisions they make
will help us all in the coming days.
God, soften our minds and hearts to your greatest wisdom.
All: Help us discern the truths of what we hear,
And react with integrity.
We pray to you God in earnestness.
