Welcome & Announcements:
One: Who has come to join in this Kerrobert United Church service today?
All: I have come.
One: In whose name do you gather?
All: In the name of Jesus, the Christ.
One: Why do you gather?
All: To pray, to sing, to celebrate! To worship God.
One: Jesus said, “For where two or three come together in my name, I am there with them”. (Mt. 18:20)
All: Thanks be to God! Amen.
Opening prayer: (unison)
God of Grace, gathering your disciples here in spite of warts and rough edges, you open inner eyes to the smooth and polished stones and the sacred gifts, stories, and talents that you store within us. All that is needed for living is offered to us, and the journey set before us is strewn with your goodness. Look to our hearts and call forth the strength therein, and we will make this walk of faith together. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Opening Hymn: #589 VU – Lord, Speak to Me
Prayer of Confession: (unison)
Lord God, we confess to you our sin: those things which have hurt others and which have offended you. Forgive us for not investing your gifts wisely. We have been negligent with the time and energy you give us - often spending it all on ourselves while others have had to do more than their share of helping and caring. We confess, O Lord, that through fear, greed, or ignorance, we have not always used the wealth you give us in a faithful and responsible manner.
Forgive us for being satisfied with sharing so little with those who are in need, while spending so much, not only on our needs, but also on our desires. We confess, O Lord, that we are prone to forget the purpose behind what you do for us. We forget that you judge us by what we do with your gifts. Forgive us for when we have buried the talents and failed to work with all the things you give us. Gracious God - forgive us. Touch us and make us whole. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon: (responsively)
One: You lift us up! You heal our wounds! You comfort and console! You forgive our sins!
All: You call us blessed, and so we are blessed.
One: For this and all God’s mercies,
All: Thanks be to God.

Prayer of Dedication: (unison)
Gracious God, you know our needs and you have always met them. In trust and in joy we now offer to you those things you have asked from us -- those things you first gave us - our tithes and offerings, our heart and spirit, our body and soul. Use them in your service - and may your name be glorified forever and forever. Amen.
