Today is Pentecost Sunday. Are you wearing red?
The colour red symbolizes fire, spirit, energy, passion, strength, power, intensity, courage and determination.  Do you recognize any or all these qualities in yourself?
As a Christ follower these qualities are our inherent gift. Thanks be to God!

Hello and how are you doing? If we can be of any help phone us, if we don’t answer the phone, please leave a message and we will get back to you. We think of you often and hold you in our prayers.
The grace of Christ, the love of God and the Power of the Holy Spirit be with you.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
“Coffee & Connect” Wednesdays @ 10 am.
Next Sunday is Communion Sunday…which means we are inviting all of you to partake and gather symbols of the elements.  You can use bread, crackers, or wavers.  For the juice please feel free to utilize any juice that works for you.  We will provide you with a Communion Liturgy and lead online listeners verbally through the steps.  We look forward to this Blessed event!

OPENING PRAYER:
God of wind and flaming fire, inspire our hearts today with your breath of life, with your words of power, with the flames of your passionate love for us. We are thankful for the gifts you have given us. In our worship today, stir in us the spirit of truth, the love of God and the power to resist evil. So that we might be the Church and live out your love, through Jesus Christ, who lives with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever. Amen.

OPENING HYMN:
Voice United #198 “Come, O Spirit, Dwell among Us”

SCRIPTURE READING:
Act 2:1-21 - The Coming of the Holy Spirit

“Going into The Room, Ready or Not”

CLOSING PRAYER:
Let us pray
By Joan Chittister, OSB

May the Gifts of the Holy Spirit bring fire to the earth, so that the presence of God, may be seen in a new light, in new places, in new ways. May our own hearts burst into flame so that no obstacle, no matter how great, ever obstructs the message of the God within each of us. May we come to trust the Word of God in our heart, to speak it with courage, to follow it faithfully and to fan it to flame in others. May the Jesus who filled women and men with his Holy Spirit fill the world and the church with new respect for all God’s created. Give us, Great God, a sense of the Breath of Spirit within us as we pray for a peaceful resolution for the violence in the states; due to racism and hatred.
We pray for government officials to rule with a heart of compassion and justice for all..
We pray for peace and love for the tormented and lonely. Comfort and hope for the destitute and downcast. Protection for those who are risking their lives so we might live.
We lift up to you the elderly, and home bound. May they sense your presence in this time of isolation and distancing from their loved ones.
Give us eyes to see, ears to hear, a heart to love and the Spirit to act.

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

CLOSING HYMN:
Voices United #375 “Spirit, Spirit of Gentleness”

CLOSING WORDS:
The Lord bless you and keep you:
The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.
