Eight years ago, our congregation faced a difficult decision --- keep going with paid ministry as a part of the Rolling Plains Pastoral Charge and face running out of money, or {scary as it sounded} strike out on our own, without a paid, regular minister in our employ. We chose door #2.
For the most part, this decision has proven to be a good one for us. Members of our congregation have filled in the void left by the minister, and some have discovered talents that they didn't know they had - talents in ministry and pastoral care that are very much appreciated.
Another decision faces us now. With an aging congregation, and not as many younger people volunteering to take over duties, what does the future hold for Kerrobert United Church? What services can we still offer to our community? What is best for our congregation, our community, and our church?
These questions and more need to be discussed and answered, with viable, realistic solutions for us all. And this will happen at the Annual Meeting, April 12th. PLEASE, if you have any interest in helping shape the future of KUC, attend this meeting and voice your suggestions and opinions.
Let us create a plan to face what's ahead together, as a faith community.
