What Does It Take?

What does it take for us to see God's possibilities 
revealed in rainbow moments?
What does it take for us to look up
from our heavy and discouraging places,
to get up, to go, to search, to notice, 
to follow a different road?
What does it take to keep us from losing heart,
to believe that we are being led to something new,
to be truly open to God's grace?
What does it take for us to be overwhelmed with joy,
to shine with the light we have been given?
What does it take for us to see the gifts we hold,
to unpack our treasure and offer it to others,
to help turn our lives and the lives of others around?
The wise ones have a story.  Do we?



Dear God,
you know what it takes to move us.
Help us to notice what you are revealing to us,
to be open to your comfort and your challenge
in the midstt of needs here and around the world.
Send us out in mission and in service.
