ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Thank you for your prayers of discernment and direction for the recent church board meeting re: protocols. As someone said, “It is a new beginning for our church”. It’s exciting to see how things will unfold for our community of faith. You are all troopers for hanging in during these trying times. Your faith has made you strong and resilient.
“Coffee & Connect” this Wednesday.
Gary and Verna will be away next week Thursday – Monday on our annual hiking trip in the Rockies. There will be no church service next Sunday.
A heartfelt “Thank You” to everyone from the Unity United Church community who contributed resources to fix our leaky roof.

OPENING PRAYER:
We gather in the presence of God, where everyone is welcome.
God, we are in a liminal space, one where chaos and disorder have confused our lives, yet one where we also find time to rest and receive your peace.
Hold us in your grace this morning, offering us the same hopeful word you offered Pilate so long ago. “Yes, I am the king. I was born for this, I came to bear witness to the truth”.
Help us to listen for your truth and to live for your truth.
May your spirit of truth lead and comfort us. Inspire and bless us. Amen
SCRIPTURE READING:
John 18:28-40
SERMON:
“Mad Cravings For the Truth”
CLOSING PRAYER:
Creator God and Risen Christ, we join our hearts with your people everywhere. We give thanks for the many blessings you bestow upon us. The sun and rain, family and friends, food and shelter and hope and peace.
In this season of uncertainty and upheaval we accept God’s invitation to be ever-mindful of the needs of others, offering our prayers on behalf of God’s community in the church and the world.
(A brief silence.)
We pray for the church; that we may point to the truth of Jesus Christ in all that we do.
We pray for creation; that the truth of God’s creative and sustaining power inspires us to heal and protect the environment.
We pray for the nations and the leaders of nations; that the truth of God’s ruling kingdom of justice and peace may be known and fully realized.
We pray for the coming kingdom; that the truth of our citizenship in God’s kingdom cause us to be agents of mercy and love.
We pray for the sick and shut ins, that the truth of God’s desire for life and healing inspire us to acts of comfort and peace.
We pray for those who are seeking truth and those who do not yet know who you are. Stir their hearts and minds to seek you out.
Fill us with your strength to resist the seductions of the world, that we may walk in obedience and righteousness.
We pray this all in the name of your son, our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ, who taught us all to pray...
THE LORD’S PRAYER:
CLOSING HYMN:
Voices United #822 “All People That On Earth Do Dwell”
CLOSING WORDS:
The Lord bless you and keep you:
The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.
