God is alive and working in our midst.

Tune in for “Coffee & Connect” Wednesday at 10 a.m. @ Gary Johnson Facebook Page.

Let us know if you have anything you want us to share with our online church family.

E.g. Birthdays, anniversaries, prayer requests.....celebrations and concerns.

Please pray for this outreach ministry. Thank you so much!

OPENING PRAYER:

We gather in the presence of God, where everyone is welcome.

You call your people to prayer and praise in many ways.

This day, we gather just as you called the people of Israel

to gather manna in the desert. Inviting us to eat the sustenance

to sustain life.

As spiritual beings, we desire to receive food that endures—

faith, hope, and love.

May we grow in understanding and in being, reflecting the ways we have been touched by your holy manna.

 Amen.

OPENING HYMN:

Voices United #222 “Come Let Us Sing”

SCRIPTURE READING:

(Exodus 16:2-4, 9-15)

REFLECTION:

“Blessed Are the Flexible,

For They Shall Not Be Bent Out of Shape”

CLOSING PRAYER:

God you call us to respond in faith, to be stewards of your resources, to live responsibly and responsively.

Thank you that we get to meet in the sanctuary of your love and mercy. We, like the Israelites long to get to the land of “milk and honey”, without having to wander through the wilderness of life.

There are so many things that stress us out, that zap our hope and joy… that can be found in you, ourselves, and others.

We get bent out of shape from that which we can’t control; such as what we’ve experienced thus far in 2020. We fight, we scream, we kick, we resist.

We get fearful when we encounter dangers, shortages and inconvenience instead of trusting in you to lead and guide us.

Help us to look ahead with expectant hope that there is a brighter future ahead.

We give you thanks for family and friends, for community and togetherness. For health and safety. For the freedom to praise and worship you.

We pray for your hand to guide the presidential election for our neighbours to the south. May people rise to the occasion to vote for just, kind, caring leaders to govern the land.

We pray for our leaders here in Canada and all over the world. Allow unity, fairness and justice for all, to be the focal point.

Remind us to pray for wisdom and discernment for those in power; instead of complaining and cursing.

We lift up to you the grieving, the downcast and the lonely. The elderly and shut-ins. Those struggling with addictions and mental health.

We pray for our friends, family and neighbours who are experiencing health problems. Fill Joanne...Keira...Eric… and whoever else is on our minds and hearts, with strength, hope and healing.

We give ourselves to you this day. May your mighty works help us get into spiritual shape. To care, to be, to forgive and to love.

We pray this all in the name of your son,

our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ,

who taught us all to pray, saying:

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

CLOSING HYMN:

Voices United #651 “Guide Me, O Thou Jehovah”

CLOSING WORDS:

The Lord bless you and keep you:

The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you:

The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.
