One: On this Sunday morning, we come into your presence, God, and give you thanks for your gift of creation.                                                       
All: Holy God, all the earth is filled with your glory!                                   
One: We gather today to give praise to your name.

PRAYER OF APPROACH and CONFESSION:                                            
One: God, you are so awesome and so wonderful.  We come before you now, with our ears ready to hear your word and with hearts open to receive your love.
All: But we also come before you knowing that there have been times when we have let you down by not being loving to other people, when we have not been faithful to what you ask us to do. For these times, we are truly sorry and ask you to forgive us.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON:                                                                         
All: We know that you hear our prayers, gracious and loving God, and we are amazed by your constant love for us, no matter what we have done! Thank you, God, for forgiving us and for the chance to begin again. Amen.
