OPENING HYMN:
Voices United #675 “Will Your Anchor Hold”
God in Jesus walks with us along the road of life.
You are with us in our struggles and in our questions, in our fears and our hopes.
Lord God, give us today a fresh experience of your grace. Help us to express to you our praise and thanksgiving in the songs we sing, and in the reading and preaching of your word. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
SCRIPTURE READING:
Exodus 16:2-15
Psalm 105:1-6, 37-43
We thank You God, for this Your Holy and Blessed Words of Scripture. Amen.
SERMON:
“Finding Joy Amid the Trial of Life”
CLOSING PRAYER:
On this day we pause to give thanks to you God. To inhale your goodness and splendour in our lives. Help us to keep our eyes affixed on you. Give us wisdom to deal with everyday issues that are a part of life, such as the pandemic. We lift up to those who are affected by the wildfires on the west coast, the hurricanes in the south east. May your grace touch those who are feeling the sense of sadness that has permeated so many lives. We pray for comfort for the isolated and lonely. For wisdom and discernment for world leaders. May they put their agenda and ego aside so they can make decisions that will benefit the world and its inhabitants. We pray for healing and comfort for...and whomever else is on our hearts and minds. We give thanks that in all our imperfections we can feel confident in turning to you. You accept us as we are but are not content to leave us as we are. Bless our friends, our families, our communities and beyond.
We pray in the name of your son, our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ,
who taught us all to pray, saying:
THE LORD’S PRAYER:
CLOSING HYMN:
Voices United #179 “Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Give Thanks”
CLOSING WORDS:
The Lord bless you and keep you:
The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.
