A question to ponder

February 12
Luke 9:28–29
Jesus took with him Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray. And while he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became dazzling white.
In art there is a term for a holy light, illumination, radiance without a source—chiaroscuro.
These scriptures point toward the contrast between light and its absence. God provides the light and invites us to explore how our lives can reflect God's glory. How we live reflects how grateful we are.
Another metaphor for this is to see that there are two ways of bringing light to the world: One is to be a candle, and the other is to be the mirror that reflects it. Both are aspects of what it means to live as good stewards—using the gifts we have been given, honouring the differing gifts of others.
How do your life choices reflect light into places where there is little or none?
When have you received the gift of light from someone else?
