THought for this week

January 29
1 Corinthians 13:1–2
If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
In Corinthians we hear that the greatest gift is love. Love compels us to be truly generous—no strings attached, no jealousy. We are compelled to be truly generous when we have the concrete feeling of being loved and the sense of being truly thankful in the light of that love.
Sometimes the reality of what it means to love all God's children is a real challenge, and we don't necessarily like being challenged. How do you choose to live God's love in our world and in relation to others?
